Let's Explore in VR! Intro to Google Expeditions and Google Cardboard *Hands-On Session*
Learn how the Oakfield-Alabama School District "dipped their toes" into virtual reality using free VR apps such as Google Expeditions and Google Cardboard. Students can now partake in immersive experiences using low cost viewers combined with mobile devices that are either student or school owned. Kits will be provided in this session, literally giving you "hands-on" exposure to see how VR can fit into your school!

Learn how to create “A Digital YOU” by creating screencasts on Chromebooks, Windows or Mac using popular free Chrome extensions such as Screencastify, Loom, Nimbus Screenshot and more. When combined with your favorite digital learning platform, teachers now have the ability to create a 24/7 personalized learning environment, perfect for keeping absent students up to date and fostering a more connected classroom! We will also explore the growing trend of obtaining your Level 1 Certification as a Flipped Learning Educator.

Google Expeditions App for iPads engage students with virtual fields to more than 700 destinations. Teachers as Guides whisk students to locations all over the world. Let students see 360° views of Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexico, the sacred locations in Jerusalem, or Coral Reefs. Expeditions are not limited to just locations. Take your class to a car assembly line, historic events in Constitution Hall, or Alexander Hamilton’s impact on our economic systems. Be a real Ms. Frizzell and travel through your digestive system, inside cells, visit clouds, or understand pollination. These virtual tours offer a window to another world that students would ordinary learn through video or textbook. Learn how to leverage this powerful app alongside student Chromebooks to make this a deeper richer learning experience.
